What syncs
| ClockLap | Sent as | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Published shift | Event (start, end, site and address) | Updated when it changes, removed when cancelled |
| Work order | Event at its time, or all day | – |
| Approved time off | All-day event, shown as free | – |
Events are created with an id made from the shift, so a retried request never doubles an event. No calendar to connect? Everyone also gets a private calendar link (iCal) that any calendar can subscribe to.
How it works
- ConnectIn My time → Calendar, sign in with Google and choose the calendar.
- Pick what goes inShifts, jobs, time off, or any of them.
- Add meetings as timeEvents from the calendar show in My time; one click adds one as a time entry (or asks a manager).
Who connects
Each person connects their own calendar. Managers can share a site calendar link with everyone’s shifts at that site.
What you need
- A Google account with Calendar
Every run keeps a history: who and what was sent, per-line results, plain-language errors with a fix, and a redacted request log for admins. Webhooks fire on shift.published, time_off.approved.
Questions
What if I don’t want to connect my account?
Use your calendar link instead: in Google Calendar, Other calendars → From URL. It updates every few hours.
Is the Google Calendar connection included in the price?
Yes. Every connection is part of every ClockLap plan: $1 per staff member and $2 per manager or admin a month, with no add-ons.
Is ClockLap affiliated with Google Calendar?
No. ClockLap connects to Google Calendar using its published API; it isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Google Calendar. The connection is in beta while we verify it with live accounts.
